This course will provide key pieces of knowledge in understanding how the foster care system works and how educators can best engage and respond to the foster child, both birth and foster parents as well as the many mental health, case workers and legal professionals involved in their student’s lives. The course will also provide educators with effective attachment and trauma focused interventions specifically catered to aid foster care children’s success in a classroom setting.
