Trauma and Resilience Foundations for Criminal Justice Professionals 101, teaches students about trauma-informed, resilience-focused care in criminal justice practice. The course explains trauma as an experience, how it affects individuals across the lifespan in the areas of emotion, behavior, cognition, and physical health. In addition, the course presents the four universal needs of all human beings including belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity. Also discussed is trauma’s impact on the brain and central nervous system and the resulting symptomology commonly observed. 

This course is the first of five required course/learning experiences to achieve Certified Trauma and Resilience Practitioner status on our Criminal Justice Track. For more information, please visit our websiite!
